Craig Miller leads Vangent’s Health Strategy and Innovation Group, which focuses on helping our clients transform their clinical and public health practices to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of healthcare. Craig also serves as a Strategic Advisor for the Federal Health Architecture and is a leader in defining the architecture for the Nationwide Health Information Network (NHIN). Craig previously served as Chief Architect for FHA CONNECT, an open source solution for exchanging health information. He has led the development of national use cases for electronic health records for emergency responders, as well as for a common data transport architecture for health information exchange. Craig is currently leading an international workgroup as part of Open Health Tools to define an international e-health roadmap. He is a member of national workgroups for biosurveillance and telehealth.
Previously, Craig was contracted to the Office of Management and Budget, where he led the technical development of the Federal Transition Framework and several versions of the Federal Enterprise Architecture Assessment Framework.
Prior to that, Craig was responsible for developing the enterprise architecture framework for the Department of Health and Human Services. He has also provided consulting, strategy and architecture services to the Food and Drug Administration, the State Department, NOAA and other Federal agencies as well as Fortune 500 firms on behalf of Vangent.
