Biography

Craig Miller brings extensive experience in health IT to Vangent via 12 years of enterprise architecture experience working with agencies such as HHS, CMS, FDA, USDA, and OMB. Over his career, Mr. Miller has developed business-droven enterprise architecture methodology that emphasizes use of business questions and decision support capabilities.

Project experience includes acting as Chief Architect for Federal NHIN Gateway software and CONNECT, an SOA-based solution to connect Federal agencies to the Nationwide Health Information Network. He also developed the latest version of OMB EA Assement Framework and the Federal Transition Framework, was the lead Enterprise Architect/Project Manager for the Department of Health and Human Service’s (DHHS) department-wide enterprise architecture initiative and was lead developer of NHIN specifications for Messaging Platform, Health Information Event Messaging and NHIE Service Registry. Additionally, Mr. Miller was lead developer of national use case for emergency response electronic health records and co-lead developer of the national use case for common data transport.

Mr. Miller is a strategic advisor to Federal Health Architecture and has expertise in electronic health information exchange, electronic health records, and service-oriented architecture (SOA). He is a member of the Federal Biosurveillance, Federal Emergency Telehealth and HITSP Foundations Framework Working Groups.
