John George, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer

John GeorgeSince joining the company in 2003, John M. George's primary responsibility is to create business-focused, technology-enabled solutions for Vangent clients. He also serves as the chief technical authority and is responsible for the company's technology direction.

His primary areas of expertise include enterprise architecture, eBusiness, Customer Relationship Management, strategy development, and systems and network integration. Before joining Vangent, he was a Vice President and Client Partner with AT&T's Professional Services organization. In this role, he managed AT&T's professional services business focused on commercial and government clients delivering complex network-intensive solutions. Mr. George also managed AT&T's Contact Center services business where he improved quality, profitability, and transformed the culture of the organization to align it with AT&T's professional services strategy. He is a member of IEEE, IAC's Enterprise Architecture Special Interest Group, and a former member of the board of directors for the Council of Electronic Revenue Communication Advancement (CERCA).

Mr. George has 25 years of successful information technology and management experience, and has developed systems ranging from small-scale microprocessor controlled real-time interfaces to large-scale, standards-based, enterprise business infrastructure. He has held various information technology and management positions within diverse consulting, business, and government cultures. His government experience includes a tour as Chief Engineer for the Information Network Program Office at the Department of the Navy Headquarters in Washington, D.C., and extensive experience at the Naval Air Systems Command and Naval Air Warfare Center. He also served as a Senior Practice Director in Oracles DoD consulting business.

Mr. George received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
