Mac Curtis leads the dynamic growth of Vangent, named the #1 company on the move in the Federal market by Federal Computer Week magazine in 2009, executing Vangent’s strategy to design, build and operate mission-critical systems and processes to seamlessly deliver vital information, services and programs for its customers and their constituents. His vision for Vangent’s future is to be the market leader in high-impact information management and strategic business solutions.

With Mr. Curtis as the driving force, Vangent has grown from a $90M business unit into one of the industry’s fastest growing consulting, systems integration, and business process companies, with revenues in excess of $558M and more than 7,000 employees in the U.S. and around the world.  Mr. Curtis spearheaded the company’s strategic expansion into the health IT business, positioning the company as the largest non-government provider of health information in the U.S.
 
A hands-on leader who sets the highest standards for performance for himself and his management team, Mr. Curtis is best known for his strategic planning, business development and management skills to lead and grow the business with an eye for acquisitions that complement Vangent's strategy.

Mr. Curtis has over 25 years of senior level executive experience in the federal government contracting industry. His leadership of Vangent began in 1999 when he joined NCS as Vice President and General Manager of the Government Services Division. In July 2000, NCS was acquired by Pearson, PLC, and Mr. Curtis became President and CEO of Pearson Government Solutions. With the Veritas purchase of Pearson Government Solutions in February 2007, Mr. Curtis continues in his role as President and CEO.

Before joining Vangent, Mr. Curtis served as Senior Vice President at DynCorp in Fairfax, Virginia. He also served as President for TechServ, LLC, directing capture management, marketing and operations and building a successful start-up business in the then-nascent computer systems outsourcing marketplace.

Mr. Curtis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Military Institute.  He uses his leadership position to make significant and lasting contributions to the community and the industry, serving on the boards of George Mason University's Volgenau School of Information Technology and Engineering and the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Curtis was recently selected the Chairman of the Board of the Professional Services Council for 2010-2011.
